The difference between alkali and alkali-free glass fiber cloth

Jul 24, 2018

The alkaline content refers to the content of alkaline metal oxides (Na2OK2O), which can be used for electrical insulation because alkaline fibers have low electrical insulating properties. Alkaline content of less than 1%, its electrical resistance is millions of times that of alkaline fibers.

The difference between alkali-free, medium-alkali, and high-alkali mainly lies in electrical properties, mechanical properties and chemical resistance. decreasing in turn.

The appearance, moisture, alkali metal oxides, wetting agent content, specifications and physical and mechanical properties of medium and alkali-free glass fiber yarns are basically formulated and produced with reference to the quality standards of alkali-free glass fiber rovings and spun yarns. The specific quality differences are as follows:

1. Glass composition: the alkali-free twist-free yarn is made of soda lime glass; the metal oxide content of the alkali-free twist-free yarn is not more than 0.8%.

2. Glass composition: The medium-alkali non-twisted yarn is made of soda lime glass, and the alkali metal content of the medium-alkali non-twisted yarn is 6%.

3. The content of wetting agent is 0.5~2%, or decided by both parties through negotiation.
