Rock wool insulation board construction requirements

Apr 17, 2018

1. The treatment of the base wall and its cement mortar leveling layer and the installation of the embedded parts are completed.

2. Necessary construction equipment and labor protection articles should be prepared.

3. The special scaffolding for construction should be set up firmly and passed the safety inspection. The distance between the scaffolding pole and the horizontal pole and the wall, and the corner of the wall should meet the construction requirements.

4. The base wall should be solid and flat, the surface should be dry, and there should be no cracking, hollowing, loosening or efflorescence. The bonding strength, flatness and verticality of the cement mortar leveling layer should comply with (Quality Acceptance Specification for Building Decoration Engineering) GB50210 Requirements for the quality of ordinary plastering works.

5. During the construction of the external insulation of the rock wool board exterior wall, construction shall not be carried out when the temperature of the base layer and the construction environment is lower than 5 ℃. Construction is not allowed in strong wind weather above grade 5 and in rainy and snowy weather. During and after construction, effective measures should be taken to prevent rain erosion and scorching sun exposure, and a protective layer should be made in time. In case of sudden rainfall during construction, measures should be taken to prevent rainwater from scouring the walls; winter construction should take antifreeze measures in accordance with relevant standards.

6. Before large-scale construction, the same materials, construction practices and techniques should be used to make the sample wall on site according to regulations, and the construction can be carried out after confirmation by all parties concerned.

7. When using rock wool board for construction, operators should wear protective equipment, do occupational health protection, and pay attention to construction safety.

8. The materials that must be inspected for the rock wool board external thermal insulation system should be sent to a qualified testing agency for testing, and the test can only be used if they pass the test.

9. The sticking method of rock wool board should adopt strip sticking method or point sticking method, and the glued area should not be less than 50%. After the adhesive is applied to the rock wool board, the lower end of the insulation board should be pasted to the base layer first. The rock wool board should be laid horizontally from bottom to top, and should be anchored while laying on the side. It should not be larger than 2mm. For example, when the width of the seam is 2mm, it should be filled with thermal insulation materials. The adjacent board surfaces should be flush, and the height difference between the boards should not be larger than 1.5mm.

10. All the through-wall pipelines and components that can reach the rock wool board should be filled with the same material and then waterproof and sealed.

11. If the veneer layer is found to fall off during the construction process, it should be fixed by bonding or anchoring in time, and the exterior veneer layer should be constructed in time.
