Eight Characteristics Of Glass Fiber Cloth
Mar 22, 2022
Glass fiber cloth is a kind of non-metallic material made of glass as raw material and processed through strict technology. It has a wide range of applications in actual production and life. There are many kinds of glass fibers, the advantages are good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance, and high mechanical strength, but the disadvantages are brittleness and poor wear resistance. Glass fibers are usually used as reinforcing materials in composite materials, electrical insulating materials and thermal insulation materials, circuit substrates and other fields.
The characteristics of glass fiber cloth are mainly related to its own chemical properties. There are eight main characteristics, namely:
1. It has good weather resistance, it can be used between minus 196 degrees Celsius and 300 degrees Celsius, and the properties of its fabrics will not change.
2. Non-adhesive. In the process of using fiberglass cloth, we will not find that it sticks to some other substances, which is also a difference between it and other cloths.
3. Corrosion resistance. Because the chemical properties of glass fiber cloth are stable, under normal circumstances, it will not affect its material distribution, even strong acids, strong alkalis and even corrosive solvents such as aqua regia will not affect it.
4. Low friction coefficient. Because of its low coefficient of friction, fiberglass cloth can achieve a very lubricating effect without using any lubricant.
5. High transmittance. The transmittance of glass fiber cloth can reach six to ten percent.
6. Strong insulation. Glass fiber cloth has high insulating properties, and can also effectively prevent ultraviolet radiation and prevent static electricity to a certain extent.
7. Strong toughness. In industrial production, we use glass fiber cloth because it has strong toughness and is not easy to break.
8. Strong drug resistance.
